Humorous Speech - 7 minute Speech, giving more importance to humour

• Speeches will be considered as a project from the CTM manual, if not presented earlier.
• The Speech must be substantially original and certified as such in writing.
• Any quoted material should be so identified during speech presentation.
• The speech should have a definite opening, body & conclusion (it should not be a collection of jokes).
• Time: Minimum 4.5min, Maximum 7.5min. (Disqualified if less than 4.5min or more than 7.5 min)
• Timer: GREEN - 5min, AMBER - 6min, RED - 7min

Table Topics - 2 minute speech on an extempore basis

Table topics is perhaps the most frightening and challenging aspect of any Toastmasters meeting. It tests one's ability to think on their feet, to spontaneously create ideas for themselves and do all this whilst adhering to the speaking standards imposed by Toastmasters. A structured delivery is still required with an introduction, body and conclusion with a smooth transition amongst them.

Rules
• No restrictions on CTM manual projects completed.
• All will talk on the same topic which will be known only when his/her turn comes.
• The topic will be simple and will not require any detailed knowledge but should lead to an opinion or conclusion.
• Time: Minimum 1.0min, Maximum 2.5min. (Disqualified if less than 1.0min or more than 2.5min)
• Timer: GREEN - 1min, AMBER - 1.5min, RED - 2min

Evaluation - 3 minute evaluation of one speech by the target speaker

Rules
• No restrictions on CTM manual projects completed.
• All contestants will do the evaluation on ONE target speaker.
• The target speaker will be known only when the contest starts.
• After the speech, contestants will be given 5 minutes to prepare. After the 5 minutes, no preparation will be allowed and all papers will be taken away from the contestants. This will be handed back to him/her when his/her turn comes.
• Time: Minimum 1.5min, Maximum 3.5min. (Disqualified if less than 1.5min or more than 3.5 min)
• Timer: GREEN - 2min, AMBER - 2.5min, RED - 3min

Club level contests are held normally in January every year

Area Level - winners of all (4-5) clubs in the area- is done every February

Division Level - Winners of all Areas - in March every year

District Level - Winners from all divisions will compete in the District conference in May every year. This year the District 79 conference will be held in Dubai.

From this year onwards, the winners from the District 79 conference will be able to travel to USA to compete in the elimination round and then in the International Speech Contest at the Toastmasters annual conference in August.
