- DTAC Registration
- DTAC Newsletter (pdf)

DTAC. The one word that immediately sends a thrill of excitement for any toastmaster. It conjures up images of festivity, energy, and non-stop activity. Picture a large conference hall, filled to the brim with formally attired toastmasters dressed to kill and flashing their shining badges.

The kinship and camaraderie is evident in every handshake and every smile. This awesome ambience, the strict protocols, respectful silence, and the energy pouring out from the contestants - all contribute to this grand event.

The District 79 Toastmasters Conference is a major annual event of our district. Eagerly anticipated and awaited, it involves the participation of over 150 clubs comprising the entire GCC and Jordan.

Spread over two days packed with excitement, DTAC 2006, will:

  • Showcase the talents of the members

  • Be entertained and informed from senior guest speakers and toastmasters

  • Take stock of the District 79's past successes

  • Elect our future leaders

What to expect

A delightful opening ceremony lends a soulful, colourful, playful, yet sombre air to the event. All eyes on the 300 club officers, who march into the hall holding their banners, making you feel proud to be part of a very elite and polished organisation.

Accomplished keynote speakers share their wealth of knowledge to add more value to existing professionalism. You get to watch established author, keynote speaker and workshop leader Ross Mackay . He will get your funny bone working, with his address title - Humour is no laughing matter.

Toastmastering is about sharing knowledge. In-depth education sessions - hand-picked from the experienced crop of thoroughbreds spread across the district.

Of course, you will be enthralled by 3 contests, featuring 27 contestants from 9 divisions. The winner in the international speech contest will represent our district at regional level.

In addition, for the first time in our districts history, there will be a Gavelier's Contest putting the spotlight on our younger stars.

At the leadership front, the District Council Meeting will convene to hear the success stories of the current officers and elect future leaders.

You will get a chance to kick up your heels and let down your hair on the night of the first day of the conference - a mystery, theme entertainment.

Why should I attend?

If you are a toastmaster, then it is your privilege.

You get to interact with toastmasters and guests from around the world, and from all walks of life. Ideas are exchanged, stories swapped and experience gleaned. It is an experience of a lifetime.

You gain valuable experience from the contests, speeches, and the organisation of the event per se.

Rub shoulders with celebrity - professional public speakers, motivating you to excel.

Right throughout, you will be entertained and treated to a delicious fare of international five-star cuisine.

After the conference, you go home charged and ready to take on the world. You would have learnt more in two days than two months of serious study.

There is the added bonus of being in the hippest city in the world - Dubai , the city that cares.

A moving closing ceremony, guaranteed to whet your appetite for more DTACs in the future. If you are a guest, you will become a Toastmaster for life.
